AP Statistics exam format for 2027

The AP Statistics exam is 3 hours long. Section I has 42 multiple-choice questions in 90 minutes and counts for 50% of the exam score. Section II has four free-response questions in 90 minutes and also counts for 50%.

Each free-response question is scored on a 10-point scale and contributes 12.5% of the total exam score.

How the AP Stats grade calculator works

The calculator converts your multiple-choice score to a percentage and applies the 50% section weight. It then adds the four free-response scores, converts the total out of 40 into a percentage and applies the other 50%.

Composite = (MCQ % × 0.50) + (FRQ % × 0.50)

This gives a weighted practice composite percentage. It is not an official College Board 1–5 score conversion.
